LENUS HAGGLUND, master farmer and legislator, died at Shenandoah, Iowa, February 22, 1942. Born in Gaule, Switzerland, May 11, 1864. He was a son of Eric and Brita Johnson Hagglund. He attended a winter session at Western Normal college, Shenandoah, and engaged in farming. He was representative from Page county in the Forty-second, Forty-second extra, and Forty third General Assemblies. In 1927 he was designated as one of the master farmers of Iowa having long been identified with farmer institutes, corn shows, and like work. The Hagglunds made a notable trip to Europe in 1929 studying various phases of agriculture.
