EDMUND A. GRIMWOOD

MR. SPEAKER: Your committee, appointed to prepare a suitable resolution commemorating the life, character and public service of the late Edmund A. Grimwood, begs leave to submit the following memorial:

Edmund A. Grimwood was born December 8, 1863, in Allamakee County, the son of Isaac and Eliza Grimwood. He passed away at Mercy Hospital, April 4, 1955, at the age of 91.

Mr. Grimwood was a retired pharmacist. He had been a resident of Oelwein 20 years, residing at 26 Third Ave., S.E.

Mr. Grimwood was a member of the Iowa State Legislature, serving in the Thirty-ninth, Fortieth, Fortieth Extra, Forty-first, Forty-second and Forty-second Extra sessions. He was a member of the Three Quarter Century club.

Mr. Grimwood is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mantie Grimwood, with whom he made his home, and by nieces and nephews.

Therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Fifty-sixth General Assembly of Iowa: That in the passing of the Honorable Edmund A. Grimwood, the people of Jones County have sustained a great loss and the House expresses its appreciation of his character and public service and tenders, by this resolution, its sincere and heartfelt sympathy to his beloved family in their great sorrow and loss.

Be It Further Resolved: That a copy of this resolution be spread upon the Journal of the House and that the Chief Clerk be directed to forward an enrolled copy to the family of the deceased.
