Senator from the Thirty-first District, composed of the counties of Boone and Story, was born in Sweden, May 9, 1870, of Swedish parents. At the age of two years, his father died, and a year later he was brought by his mother to the United States, later settling in Boone county where he received his early education in the public schools, then attended Drake university. He remained on the farm until 1896 when he moved to Boone, and served two terms as county recorder, later moving to a farm, and he has been engaged in farming since that time. He is vice president of the Beaver Savings bank, also secretary of the Beaver Co-operative Elevator Company, and has served on the Beaver school board. He is a member of the Methodist church, is married and has four sons. Was elected senator in 1920. A republican in politics.
