Senator from the Thirty-third district, composed of Delaware and Buchanan counties. He is a farmer and live stock breeder, living near Manchester. Born in Delaware county, July 2, 1884, his parents being farmers; a graduate of the Manchester high school, University of Iowa Colleges of Liberal Arts, 1906, and Law, 1911; devoted several years to newspaper work in Iowa City and Cheyenne, Wyoming, and two years to the practice of law in Johnson county; elected senator in 1920 on the republican ticket.
