Representative from Greene county, was born on a farm in Greene county, Iowa, of American parentage, in 1884. He lived on this farm until seventeen years of age, attending the rural schools. At the age of eighteen he entered Des Moines College Academy. From here he went to Brown University, Providence, R.I., and completed his junior years there. At the death of his father in 1912 he returned home to Churdan, Iowa, and engaged in the banking business left by his father, in which business he is still engaged. He was married to Clara Olevia Northrop of Boone, Iowa, June 24th, 1918. Elected representative in 1918. He is a republican in politics.
