Representative from Grundy county, was born in Longford county, Ireland, in May, 1863, came to New York city in the spring of 1879, remained there during the summer, then settled in Grundy county. He attended school at Grundy Center, Tilford Academy, and Leander Clarke College. He is a farmer and stockman. Was married April 12, 1905, to Miss May Kaufman of Morrison, Iowa. To them two children were born, namely: Lewis and Helen. Was county supervisor for three years, and director and vice president of the Farmers Mutual Fire and Lightning Insurance Company. Elected representative in 1916. Re-elected in 1918. A republican in politics.
