Senator from the fifth district, composed of the counties of Decatur, Ringgold and Union, was born in Greene county, Pennsylvania, May 12, 1865. Moved with his parents to Iowa in 1867 and located on a farm near Mt. Ayr. Has been actively engaged in farming and stock raising all his life. Is a resident of Mt. Ayr at the present time but still owns and operates his farm. Is vice-president of the Mt. Ayr State Bank at the present time. Represented his county in the thirty-fourth general assembly and was elected to the senate in 1916. A democrat in politics.
