Representative from Grundy county, was born in Longford county, Ireland in May 1863, came to New York city in the spring of 1879, remained there during the summer and in the fall came west and settled in Grundy county and has lived there ever since. He attended school in Grundy Center, Tilford Academy and Leander Clarke College at Toledo. He is a farmer and stockman. Was married April 12, 1905, to Miss May Kaufman of Morrison, Iowa. To them two children were born, one son and one daughter. He has held the offices of township clerk, county supervisor and director and vice-president of the Farmers Mutual Fire and Lightning Insurance Company of his county. He is a republican in politics and elected representative in 1916.
