Born in September 30, 1807, at Level Corner, Lycoming, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer. He was the first settler in Trenton Township, Henry County, Iowa. He was one of the developers of Trenton. He married Miss Eleanor Currigan April 17, 1828, in Shelby County, Indiana. He was a Justice of the Peace. He represented Henry county in the First and Third General Assemblies, 1846, 1850.
