Van Buren County
Born September 9, 1803 in Saratoga, Saratoga County, New York, and died September 10, 1889. He married Roby Eddy in 1831. She died September 21, 1837. They had one child Ruth (1834). He married Laura Bryan (1816-1901) sometime after 1837. They had four children: Caroline (1840), Mary (1842), Horace LaSalle (1850), and Georgie Ella (1858). He was known as an inventor. He holds U.S. Patent 46548 that is an invention relates to stave-making machines in which a curved reciprocating saw is employed for sawing the staves for barrels. He was known as a member of the Second Constitutional Convention, and a man of as clear a head and honest a heart.
