Born December 19, 1855 and died July 05, 1924. He was a prominent lawyer, judge, banker, newspaperman and mayor of Clear Lake. Mr. Hurn married Harriet J. Smith, a native of Milton, Wisconsin, the daughter of David and Sarah Jane Smith. He represented Cerro Gordo county in the Twenty-ninth General Assembly. He was a Republican in politics. In 1905 the family moved to Spokane, where Hurn started a new law practice and eventually became a judge.
