ALBERT W. HAMANN, attorney and legislator, died at Davenport, Iowa, November 12, 1946; born in Audubon county, Iowa, on November 3, 1876, son of C. H. and Marie Koenig Hamann; attended Davenport schools and was graduated from the University of Iowa and the college of law at Columbia university, following which he began the pracice of law in Davenport in 1899 as an associate of the late Carl F. Hass, who died in 1912; subsequently was senior member of the law firm of Hamann & Doerr, with Edward A. Doerr, and prior to his death had practiced law in Davenport for forty seven years; served two terms as county attorney from 1905 to 1909; and one term in the Iowa general assembly in 1902; a member of the Iowa State Bar association, and of the Scott County Bar association which he served as president in 1900, of the Elks and various fraternities; active in Republican political circles and community affairs; married September 24, 1902, in Davenport to Clara A. Heuck, who survives him.
