Associated with the milling firm of Slaughter and Fields, of Akron, Iowa, was nominated by the republican convention of Plymouth county as state representative to the Iowa legislature. He was elected in in 1902 to serve in the Twenty-ninth General Assembly. Mr. Fields was especially honored as he made no campaign for the nomination.
