Warren County

Warren county, satisfied with the services of the Hon. J. H. Miller in the Twenty-sixth General Assembly, returns him to the house this term. Mr. Miller was born in Princeville, Ill. He was married to Miss Ellen McGregor, November 8, 1865, and to them have been born five children. He has been a resident of this state thirty years. He belongs to the Methodist church and is connected with the G. A. R. He enlisted in 1861 with Company D, Eleventh Illinois cavalry, and was mustered out at the close of the strife in 1865. From 1880 to 1886 Mr. Miller was a member of the Warren county board of supervisors. Politically he has always been an active man in the republican party, and the position he occupies in the Iowa legislature is the first state office he has ever held. Last session he acted on the committees on compensation of public officers, animal industry, penitentiaries, public lands and buildings, engrossed bills, judicial districts, military, fish and game.
