William B. Hunt
Des Moines County
Des Moines county returns this winter the Hon. W. B. Hunt, of Burlington, democratic member of the house. Mr. Hunt was a member of the Twenty-sixth General Assembly, and made a most favorable record. He was born in the county that he represents, October 4, 1857, and with the exception of one year in the city of Burlington, he has lived on a farm near there all his life. His education was obtained in the public schools and colleges of that city. His marriage to Miss Alice M. Stewart was consummated about a dozen years ago, and to them were born two daughters, Clara and Helen. They are members of the Methodist church. When he entered upon his legislative duties two years ago, it. was his first experience in public office-holding. He has been active in the democratic politics of his district since he attained his majority. Last session he served on the committees on banks and banking, hospitals for the insane, Agricultural college, woman's suffrage, penitentiaries, and horticulture.
