John Barnum

John Barnum was born in Ohio in 1820. His first marriage was to Adelia White, she died in 1866 in Ohio. He married Jennie L. Porter on March 20, 1871, in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. By 1884 he had moved to Iowa. He was living in Mills county and was elected mayor of Emerson on the Citizen’s ticket. In 1886 he represented Mills County in the twenty-first General Assembly in the House of Representatives. In 1889 he moved to Bradshaw, Neb. He died in 1908 in Barry County, Missouri.
