Mahaska County
Born January 18th, 1829, in Harrison county, Ohio. He married in July, 1849, to Miss Hannah Funk, who was born in Westmoreland county, Pa., and removed to Wapello county; in 1847. Mr. Picken first settled in Iowa in October, 1849, locating in Cedar township, Mahaska county, and since 1857. He was a justice of the peace, which office he held for six years. He was extensively engaged in the stock business, and was known as among the best of Mahaska county farmers. He represented Mahaska County in the Twentieth General Assembly, 1884.
