Born April 10, 1844, in Pennsylvania. He came to Camanche, Iowa, in 1854 with his parents. He was a lawyer. He married Miss Mary J. Orr July 1, 1864. He represented Ida county in the Nineteenth Iowa General Assembly, 1882.
