Born in Bath, Maine about 1814. He married Abigail Butterfield (1818-1869) on May 21, 1840 in Wilton, Maine. He came to Iowa in 1871. Mr. Lambert conducted the first lumber yard in Lime Springs, Forest City Township, and Howard County, Iowa with Hiram P. Marsh. He was member of the House of Representatives for the 18th (1880) and 19th (1882) General Assemblies for Howard County. He later moved to Chicago, Illinois.
