Mr. Kerr, from the committee appointed to draft resolutions of respect in memory of the late A. V. Stout, submitted the following report:

MR. SPEAKER—Your committee appointed to draft resolutions of respect to the memory of Hon. A. V. Stout, late of Grundy county, submit the following report:

WHEREAS, The Hon. A. V. Stout, late of Grundy county, and formerly an honored member of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth General Assemblies, passed away at his home in Beaver township, Grundy county, Iowa, on March 28, 1900, therefore be it

Resolved, That in his death the state of Iowa, has lost a conscientious, able and loyal citizen, the community in which he lived an upright and useful member, and his family a kind and devoted husband and father, whose pure and noble life is worthy of all commendation.

Resolved, That this body extend to the sorrowing wife and family our sincere sympathy in their great loss, and the clerk of the House is hereby instructed to mail an engrossed copy of these resolutions to the widow of deceased.
