Samuel T. Sherrard
Appanoose County
Born in Lawrence County, Penn., on February 15, 1840, attending district school until age 18, when he entered the academy. He remained for two years, alternately teaching. In 1860, he married Miss Eliza Mathews, daughter of Joseph and Jane M. In 1872, they came to this county, where Mr. Sherrard has since engaged in farming. He is a republican in politics and regularly attended the Baptist and Reformed Presbyterian Churches, and Sunday school. He held school offices in this county. He was Assessor two terms, also Justice of the Peace. He represented Appanoose county in the Seventeenth General Assembly, 1878.
