Thomas Rogers
Dubuque County
Born October 14, 1808, in Fort Edward, New York. He studied law under Judge Esek Cowen in Saratoga, New York. He was admitted to the New York bar in 1836. On the advice of Henry Clay, he moved to Burlington, Iowa, and began practicing law there in 1839. He served the people of Dubuque County in the House of Representatives of the Fifth and Sixth Legislative Assemblies of the Iowa Territory. Following the expiration of his terms in the legislature, he married Ann W. Borton in 1850. Mr. Rogers died February 6, 1874, in Dubuque.
