Born February 28, 1807, in Ohio. He made his way west to Iowa, where he married Jemima Tonner in 1840. He served Louisa County in the House of Representatives of the Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Legislative Assemblies of the Iowa Territory. He died February 1, 1873, in Iowa City, Johnson County.
