Born March 19, 1808, in Ross County, Ohio. He made his way west to Iowa, where he served Henry County in the House of Representatives of the Seventh and Eighth Legislative Assemblies of the Iowa Territory. He died December 17, 1855 in Wayland, Henry County. He is buried with his wife, Mary Elizabeth.
