Started farming in 1964. Elder, Presbyterian Church; past board member, Independence Community Schools; soil district commissioner; zoning board, Buchanan County; director, Northeast Iowa Farm Business Association, Iowa Master Pork Producer; Farm Bureau member; United Fund drive chairman.
