Davenport 41st Senatorial District Republican Born July 13, 1922 in Davenport, son of Forrest F., Sr. and Lillie Osborn Ashcraft. Graduated Davenport High School, 1941. Additional education at FBI National Academy, Washington, D.C., University of Iowa, University of Illinois, University of Maryland, St. Ambrose College and Western Illinois University. Married Betty Jean Haver. Children: Judy, Forrest III, Debra, Gary, Shari and Jeffrey. Entered U.S. Army Air Corps 1943-1945. Was appointed to the Davenport Police Department in 1948. Promoted to Assistant Chief of Police, served as acting Chief for first six months of 1976. Member: FBI National Academy Associates, Iowa State Policemens Association (Past President), Iowa Association Chiefs of Police and Peace Officers, Inc., International Association of Chiefs of Police, Elks, Moose, American Legion, member St. Johns United Methodist Church. First term.
