Has served in all elective offices of Delaware County Farm Bureau, member of American Legion, and Presbyterian Church. Served in 58th, 59th, 60th, 60th Extra, 61st and 62nd General Assemblies.

They have three sons, James A. with the Mutual of Omaha in Chicago; William U. an Extension Director in Butler County, Iowa; and Roger D. a senior in Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey. He has lived near Manchester where he was engaged in turkey production, farming, dairying, and beef cattle. Owns 350 acres of land, two miles south of Manchester. Retired January 1, 1959. Member of various Masonic orders, including Shrine; also member of American Legion. Presbyterian, elder for several years. Serving first term.
