Albia Lucas-Monroe Counties Republican. Born Sept. 5, 1900, in Kings, Illinois. Son of George W. and Nellie King. Graduated from University of Michigan, B.A. degree, majoring in Business Administration. Married Helen Hayes and they have three children, James, Ruth and Linda. Banker and owns and operates with tenant a 500 acre farm in Appanoose and Monroe Counties. Formerly cashier, Garden Grove Trust and Savings Bank, 1928-31; examiner in charge of closed banks under the State Banking Department, 1931-35. Presently president of Peoples National Bank since 1935; Trustee, Iowa State University Foundation Farms; president of Ringgold Inc.; member of Methodist Church, Farm Bureau, Albia Chamber of Commerce, Albia Country Club; and treasurer, Albia Industrial Development Corporation 1956-1967. Elected to first term.
