Vinton Benton County Democrat. Born June 20, 1916, in Vinton, Iowa. Son of Suen O. and Belle F. Hanson. Graduated from high school in 1933. Served four years in U.S. Navy, 1935-1939. Married 1941 and has two children, Barbara Hanson Franks and Robert J. Hanson. Elder in First Christian Church and an assistant Sunday School teacher. Member Benton County Farm Bureau for 25 years and served three years as treasurer and one year as president. Chairman and co-chairman Benton County Crop Committee, 4-H leader for five years, six years on Benton County Farm Service Company Board, and served two years as Secretary of Benton County Cattle Feeders Association. Elected to first term.
