Former Lincoln Township Assessor, former member of Clay County Board of Education, and former member of Iowa District Board of the Lutheran Church. Farmer and real estate broker. Served in the 56th, 57th, 58th, 59th, 60th and 60th Extra General Assemblies in the House of Representatives. Was minority floor leader and assistant floor leader. Elected to Senate from Clay-Dickinson Counties during 61st General Assembly and from Buena Vista-Clay Counties in 62nd General Assembly.

Lincoln township assessor; served his community in Red Cross, Triple A committees and was elected and served as a member of the Clay county Board of Education. Served on the Board of Trustees of the Lutheran church. He was elected State Representative in 1954 and re-elected in 1956. Minority floor leader in 57th General Assembly. Serving second term.
