Albert City Buena Vista County Republican. Born May 30, 1923, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Son of Ralph and Ruth Diehl. Attended Hayes Consolidated Schools, Storm Lake, Iowa. Attended Buena Vista College, Storm Lake, and graduated University of Iowa, College of Commerce B.S. degree, 1948; graduated College of Law, J.D., 1958. Phi Delta Theta Social Fraternity. Married Mary Ann Diehl and is the father of two sons, Dick and Jim, and one daughter, Susan. Practices law with wife in Albert City. Owns or manages several farms and has worked with several insurance companies in the past. Member of the Board of Directors, Grandview College, Des Moines, and Pleasant View Nursing Home, Albert City. Member of the Lutheran Church, Masons, Lions Club and Kiwanis. Was a member of the U.S. Army for 4 1/2 years, 1st Lieut. Adj. Gen. Corp. Serving first term.
