Cedar Rapids Democrat 24th Senatorial District Linn County. Born May 25, 1919, in Kingfisher, Okla., son of Carlton and Mary M. Weimer. Attended elementary and high schools in Newton, graduating in 1937. Attended Coe College from 1938-1941, leaving in junior year to enter service. His wife's name is Leone. They were married Dec. 24, 1941, in Milton, Fla. Children are Mary Weimer Samuelson, 25, and Mark Weimer, 20. Member of the Protestant Church, past president of the Optimist Club of Cedar Rapids-Marion, American Legion, American Institute of Banking. World War II Aviator. First National Bank of Marion, Marion, Iowa, Vice-President, Commercial Loan Officer 1961 to present. First term in senate.
