Attended St. Mary's University, San Antonio, Texas; master's degree from Creighton University, Omaha, Neb.; additional work at Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind. Married Marylyn Seidl August 8, 1959. Two sons, Stephen, 3, Andrew, 1. High school teacher of American government, history, and debate. Served as second lieutenant U.S. army during Korean war. Member of Carter Lake Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, American Federation of Teachers, president of local 738. Catholic. First term.
