Farmington Lee County Republican Born September 15, 1903, in Bentonsport, Iowa. Son of Harry Armstrong and Eva Mae Gaston Shepherd. Great, great, great-grandson of John Davidson, signer and member of the First Constitution of the State of Iowa in 1844. Graduate of Railroad Institute of Management and graduate Dale Carnegie Program. Married Thelma Iona Gentry, 1927, and they have two children, Robert Wallace and Sara Ann (Mrs. Harlan Johnson); four grandchildren. Member of Episcopalian Church, Elks, Iowa and Missouri Historical Societies and National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Served as former city councilman, Fort Madison, Iowa, and member of various committees pertaining to city and state government. Was executive with Sheaffer Pen Company for 39 years, retired Nov. 1, 1965, and also was with A.T. and S. Fe railroad in management position. Serving second term. Member of the following committees in the 63rd Assembly: Cities and Towns, Ranking Member; Ways and Means; Commerce; Iowa Development; and Conservation and Recreation.
