Married Alice Kemp (second marriage) Dec. 26, 1964. Father of two sons: Robert Allen, 35, and Kenneth Laverne, who died 1957. Farmer. Member of Methodist Church and Farm Bureau. Present board member of Union Bank and Trust Company, Strawberry Point. Served 3 years State Extension Planning Council, 15 years on Lamont School Board, 7 years on Buchanan County R.E.C. Board. Served in house of representatives 1961-1963, and in the 1964 special session. Serving first term in senate.
