Born in Butler County, Ohio, May 15, 1809. He lived in Ohio until he came to Iowa in 1852, when he located in this county, Jackson Tp., and engaged in farming. He was elected Representative to the State Legislature in October, 1857, the first session held at Des Moines after the adoption of the New Constitution. He held town and school offices. Mr. Randolph has been married three times his first wife was Sarah Woodmansee, from Ohio. His second wife was Mary Ann Lynch, from Kentucky, and he married his present wife, Mrs. Rebecca Gardner, formerly Miss Rebecca Paine, in October, 1866. Mr. and Mrs. Randolph are connected with the M. E. Church. Mr. Randolph has been a member of this Church for fifty nine years.
