Born in Missouri in December, 1824. Mr. M. came to Jasper County in 1867. He had 245 acres of land. He married Miss Mary Alexander in 1848. She was born in Scotland in 1825. They have six children. He is a Republican and has held office of Sub-Director, Township Supervisor and was Representative from Jackson County in the General Assembly, held at Des Moines in 1858. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Mr. Millsap enlisted in the 16th Regiment Iowa V. I., in 1862 and participated in the battle of Shiloh. He was mustered out in 1863 on account of ill health.
