Born in 1825 in Greenbrier, West Virginia. He was a prominent and useful member of society, the church and the age in which he lived. In 1860 he represented this county in the Lower House of the Legislature, which position he filled with honor to himself and his constituents. He also served with distinction as Lieutenant and acting quarter-master of the 25th Iowa Infantry. Mr. Withrow, for many years was a consistent, living, acting member of the large, M. E. Church. He was also a prominent member of the Masons and Odd Fellows. He married Miss Libertatia A. Arnold December 24, 1854.
