He moved to Lee County, Iowa between 1857-1861. He was sheriff of Lee County and Director of National Bank in Des Moines, IA. He represented Lee county in the Eighth and Twelfth General Assemblies 1860 and 1866. Mr. Hedges was a Democrat in politics.
