Served 52 months in World War II and received Battle Field Commission. Former police chief. Owns and operates 431-acre farm in Buchanan County. Married Maxyne Taylor in 1947. They have five children: John, Cody, Rita, Judy and Paul. Member of Methodist Church, Lions, V.F.W., American Legion, Farm Bureau, Northeast Iowa Peace Officers Association, and former Buchanan County Republican Chairman. Serving second term.
