Born in Washington County, Indiana, August 30, 1818. When six years old, his parents moved to Putnam County, Indiana and there he was reared to manhood. In 1838 he was married to Miss Susan May. In the fall of 1848, he removed to Lucas County and a few months later to Monroe County where he resided until 1852. He then came to Wayne county and settled on two hundred acres from the government. Here he erected a log cabin and began improving his land. From the time he settled here Mr. Wright has been active in the support of every movement calculated to promote the public welfare. He has held many official trusts in Wright township, which was named it his honor. He was county supervisor two terms. He was elected to. the Seventeenth General Assembly of the State Legislature, taking his seat in January 1878, and serving with credit and honor to himself and satisfaction to his constituents. Mr. Wright owned one of the finest farms in the county, and was an extensive dealer in stock. He was a good and useful man.
