Born in Lordstown, Ohio on January 13, 1836. He was married to Miss Laura E. Jones in October, 1860. Mr. Duncan came to Albia in December, 1867. He was elected to the 17th session of the Iowa legislature. For a great many years he was president of the Albia school board. He was a grain dealer by profession. Mr. Duncan was a member of the Christian Church and the Knights of Pythias. In all matters pertaining to the promotion of the towns interests he did his full part.
