Born August 20, 1833, in Meredith, Belknap Co., N. H. In 1855, he moved to Dixon, Illinois; in 1856, to Minnesota; in 1859, he went to California; 1863, returned to Clinton, thence to Council Bluffs; in 1874, came to Lyons; has been engaged in the lumber trade since 1868. Married Miss Mary C. Pollock Nov. 13, 1850; she was born in 1837, in Sangamon County Illinois. In politics he was a Democrat. He represented Clinton county in the Eighteenth General Assembly, 1880. He was a member of the Episcopal Church.
