Born November 19, 1845, in Greene County, Pa., and came to this county with his parents. The family resided in Sheridan township for many years. His boyhood days were spent on his father's farm. He was educated in the common schools, and also attended the State University at Iowa City. He was united in marriage January 10, 1869, with Louisiana L. Micks, a daughter of Gilbert Micks, of this township. Mr. Seaman is known as a breeder of blooded stock, and makes a specialty of fine horses. He represented Scott County in the General Assembly two terms. He held the office of justice of the peace for 10 years. He was also a school director and constable.
