Born in Concord, Pa., February 8, 1820. He came to Washington in 1854, and was in the furniture and lumber business with A. H. Wallace for about thirty five years. Mr. Wilson represented Washington and Louisa counties in the Sixteen and Seventeenth General Assemblies, 1876-78 in the Iowa Senate being elected on the Democratic ticket against Rev. Henri Wallace, Republican. Mr. Wilson was a man of more than ordinary intelligence and politically was what is almost an anomaly in these parts, a Democrat and a United Presbyterian.
