Born at West Point, Lee County, Iowa, July 19, 1847. A few years afterward, in 1851 his father Thos. Hardy moved Davis County. He was married to Elizabeth Hill in October, 1872, making their home on a farm near Bloomfield. Our brother Hardy was a good man. Those who knew him best and were associated with him in business had only a word of praise for him. The confidence the people reposed in him is displayed by his serving three terms as township assessor. Davis County also honored him by electing him as their representative in the lower house of the state legislature in 1883. He was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church where he served as deacon for a number of years.
