Born in 1844 in Pennsylvania to Philemon Henry Doud and Louisa Hayden. Died August 14, 1895, at age 50 in San Francisco. He enlisted April 14, 1863, as Eighth Corporal, and mustered out April 14, 1863. He was promoted Sixth Corporal July 27, 1863, and Company Quartermaster Sergeant April 11, 1864. He transferred to Company G. Seventh Cavalry Reorganized. Malcolm married Jennie Davenport on March 25, 1870, in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa. Jennie was born about 1846. In 1889 Malcolm P. Doud was manager Pacific Coal Co.
