Maquoketa Jackson County Republican Born December 14, 1910, in Haynes, North Dakota. Son of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Battles. Graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1928. Was an early pioneer of the trucking business in eastern Iowa. Married Helen Gisel in 1938 and the father of two children, Lynn F., Jr. of Maquoketa and Gary Owen of Garden City, Kansas. Farmer, livestock feeder and dealer. Member of the Methodist church, president of Jackson County Fair Association, county 4-H advisory leader from 1950 to 1964, Jackson County Farm Bureau president in 1959-60 and one of three remaining founders and present director of Maquoketa State Bank. Serving second term.
