Waterloo Black Hawk County Democrat. Born in Thompson, Iowa, June 29, 1921, son of John and Mildred Uban. Attended Waterloo schools. Graduated from West High School in 1939. B.S. Iowa State College in Ames in 1949. Married Emma Jo Schnucker 1945. Children: C. John, Jolyn, Stephen, Mark, Mary Ann. Airline pilot for China National Aviation Corporation 1943-47. Operates the Uban Oil Company, 1949 to present time. One term in the Iowa House of Representatives, 61st General Assembly.

Married Emma Jo Schnucker, and have five children, John, Jolynn, Stephen, Mark and Mary Ann. Actively engaged in business as oil jobber in Waterloo. Served as a pilot for the China National Aviation Corp. during World War II. Precinct committeeman. Serving first term.
