Chamber of Commerce President; Director of Industrial Development Corporation; Member Governor Ray's Committee on Cities and Towns Financing 1969-70; Member Governor Hughes' Commission on Intergovernmental Relations 1967; Director Iowa League of Municipalities 1969-70; Elected to City Council 1963; Served as Mayor from 1965-70; Chariton Citizen of the Year 1969; Member Methodist Church. Serving first term in Senate.
